The Rest and Be Thankful hillclimb heritage 

Here’s Mrs Gray Mickel in July 1955, taking her MG TF 1500 round the hairpin on her first climb of the Rest and Be Thankful course in Glen Croe, Argyll. Her time around the 1425-yard (0.8-mile) circuit was 82.32 seconds: not the slowest by any means, as T Dryver’s best time in a MkI Ford Zephyr –the only saloon to be entered that year - was 88.10 seconds.
